New Autonomous Shuttles for the Entertainment District

We all know that parking can be a little crazy when attending events at the Cowboys Stadium or Globe Life Park.  Now, if you end up having to park far enough away, you can take advantage of the new autonomous shuttles for the entertainment district.

The City of Arlington’s new autonomous shuttle service, Milo, rolls out in the Entertainment District this weekend.

Fans attending the Dallas Cowboys pre-season home game on Saturday, August 26, will be among the first to ride the Milo shuttles as part of the City’s innovative transportation pilot program.

The self-driving Milo shuttles, which are free to ride, will run approximately one hour before and one hour after major events at AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Park in Arlington.

The battery-powered shuttles are primarily available to individuals who park near the stop at Lot R, located at Sanford Street and Stadium Drive. From the designated stops, passengers are taken to their destinations along a route that follows the paved trail system in Richard Greene Linear Park and Robert Cluck Linear Park between AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Park.

The shuttles, which are wheelchair accessible, can hold up to 12 passengers and will drive at speeds averaging 10 to 12 miles per hour.

The City is leasing two of these self-driving, electric vehicles from EasyMile, a company based in France, as part of a one-year pilot program to explore autonomous transportation technology in a real-world setting.

Arlington is the first municipal government in the United States to offer ongoing autonomous shuttle service to the general public.
